Managed Partners: we've already blocked this update for you
Windows Update keeps us up to date with security, patches and… whatever else happens to pop up in there.
But some of these updates are flawed. Gasp!
Including a recent “optional” update that just came off the press a few days ago that could potentially wreak havoc on your system with reboot loops, crashes, and the surprise Blue Screen of Death.
Even worse, it can throw your computer into the dreaded BitLocker recovery.
So what do you do? Simple: Skip it, don’t install it, leave it alone. The update in question is a Microsoft “preview” update. This means it’s NOT a mandatory update, so it shouldn’t automatically install. That is unless you set your computer to install optional updates automatically.
This is the update you need to avoid (it looks like this):
Microsoft is aware of the issue and says they will have something out soon to fix it. But if you can catch it in time… don’t update!
Of course… if you aleady jumped the gun and updated… we can help. Send me an email, and let’s get that computer back up and running.
