If you have a Gmail account, then Google is scanning your emails.

Open Settings by clicking the gear icon. Stay on the General tab and turn off Smart features. Then click “Manage Workspace smart feature settings” and disable those as well. Save your changes.
On mobile Gmail
Open Settings. Go to Data privacy. Turn off Smart features. Then open Google Workspace smart features and turn those off, too.
There are two switches. Miss one, and scanning continues.

Google may be technically correct in everything it says.
That does not make users feel better.
